We run a number of events and programmes throughout the year for University members and external organisations. Our activities also bring together the University community with industry, investors, collaborators and partners.
Our programmes and events include knowledge sharing, training, showcases and networking opportunities covering a range of topics relating to impact and commercialisation.
3.30 – 5.30pm, first Wednesday of every month at:

West: Hauser Forum
South: Jeffrey Cheah Biomedical Centre
Pop in and join us for a chat and meet with like-minded people over coffee and cake.
We host regular online drop-in sessions for University members interested in generating impact from their research.
If you are University of Cambridge postdoc with an interest in entrepreneurship and have an idea, we can help you bring your ideas to reality – whatever stage you are at!
More than just a pitching competition, the competition features a programme of activities designed to help accelerate the creation of businesses from University research. We help you develop your idea through business modelling workshops and guidance on writing your first business plan through to presentation skills and pitch coaching, with access to mentors throughout the process.

Research Group Commercialisation Workshops (Physical Sciences)
Can you explain why your research is worth someone’s attention in just under 5 minutes? Do you want to be more involved in the commercialisation process and understand how your own research can create impact in today’s society? We can deliver tailored workshops for any research group at the University of Cambridge to help you explain the relevance and impact of your research to your peers, discuss commercialisation routes and processes and even have a go at pitching your idea to the rest of the group! We recently had a fun session with the Knowles Lab at St Johns College, where we really delved into what makes a good problem to solve, discussed techniques on how best to find out who your competitors are and took a look into the market opportunities of these ideas. Mini pitches were prepared and a lot of fun, discussion and ideas for the future were brought to light!

Many of our activities are annual programmes or form a series of events. Events include intellectual property (IP) information sessions, how-to workshops on company creation and consultancy, and Q&A sessions with industry experts. Some of these events are open to University academics, researchers and staff only.
A selection of our recent events can be found on our Past events page.
